Behavioral Self-Control Program (University-wide distribution)

UNM's Science & Technology Corporation has partnered with Behavior Therapy Associates, LLP, to distribute the Behavioral Self-Control Program through foliodirect. The software was developed by Dr. Reid Hester, the director of Behavior Therapy Associates' Research Division. Dr. Hester is also a Research Associate Professor at UNM.

This interactive software program teaches drinkers how to moderate their drinking. It consists of eight training sessions which follow the Miller & Munoz protocol in How to control your drinking.

The software 1) is based on the most current data on moderate drinking and harm reduction; 2) gives the user individualized feedback relative to his or her goals and self-monitoring data; and 3) provides an individualized BAC chart, written contracts based on the user's goals, and other written materials.

This version is available only to universities at a fee of $4,800 per year. The license allows universities to distribute unlimited copies of the Behavioral Self-Control Program to students, faculty, and staff for the period of one year.

Please note that the Behavioral Self-Control Program is also available under single-user and therapist licenses.
